Yes, I do plan on finishing the story one day.
But I'd like to talk about the Future of Literature. If the latest best sellers are any indication, (I am talking about the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy) then this confirms what we've all known all along: The Future of Literature is erotic fanfiction.
Fifty Shades started out as a Twilight fanfiction story, but the author changed some names and details to avoid copyright issues. And now what do we have? A full-blown phenomenon where copies of the books are flying off the shelves. This is fanfiction legitimatized. It's finally happened.
So now I think we can all experience some comfort in knowing that reading and writing in this genre is not deviant behavior, it is a social norm. I will certainly rest easier knowing this.
BTW, I have never read any of the Fifty Shades books as it doesn't sound like my style, but I think the success it's getting is fantastic.
